Dear Coronado K-8 Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Coronado K-8! Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are so excited to have you as part of our school community. We are looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and connection.

My name is JJ Letts, and I have the great privilege of serving as the principal of Coronado K-8. This is my 32nd year in education, and I continue to feel honored and inspired by the work we do with students and families every day.

My career began in the classroom, where I taught for 15 years. I later spent three years teaching at the University of Arizona before transitioning into school administration. For the past 12 years, I have served as an administrator in the Amphitheater School District, working at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. This is my fourth year as principal of Coronado K-8, and I can truly say that this school holds a special place in my heart.

Coronado is a unique and vibrant community where we are committed to fostering academic excellence, strong character, and a love of learning in every student. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where all children can thrive. We value strong partnerships with families and believe that open communication and collaboration are key to student success.

As we begin this school year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and confident that, together, we can make it a memorable and meaningful experience for your child.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to support our students throughout the year.

Sincerely,
JJ Letts
Principal, Coronado K-8
